On Monday, September 25th, I had the pleasure teaching a handlettering class at Creative Remix in Saginaw. My student Amanda was kind enough to share her photos with me.
Included in the class is a fun upper and lower case alphabet, notebook and my favorite lettering pen the Towbow Fudensuke.
First we practice the uppercase, and then I give the option to switch to forming lowercase and start word formations.
Ann wanted to see how I’d lettered ‘Praise the Lord’ as she has a chalkboard she’s itching to handletter.
We also went over making our descenders and ascenders fancy. Different styling for the word “and” as well as different options for connecting “oe” as we get in the Christmas spirit.
If any of my students have questions I like to work with them individually.
Demonstrating some fun alternatives for ‘the’
Work on composition. First, I like to write it out in my traditional handwriting, then I start working on composing the text and mixing up the different styles.
